Birthday party

Well, going with my long established tradition of posting two months after an event, here is the birthday party we had for Tom and Mary Alice back in November. Tom's fourth birthday was six weeks earlier, but we were still in full panic mode at the time, trying to finish the major work on the house and move in before the end of October. So, we celebrated with a 10 minute break of pie and some presents amidst our little war zone.

When Mary Alice's first birthday came around six weeks later, we were a bit more prepared for proper birthday celebrations and so we had a double birthday for both kids. The result = Tom now thinks his birthday is celebrated twice a year. Next time around might be a bit tough for the poor kid.

Anyway, here are some pictures from the kid's birthday party.

The train cake that took me twice as long to decorate at it should have...

(Partly because I had some help decorating...)

The Party-goers

We were lucky to have some family up for the celebrations: Grandma and Grandpa Bradshaw, Aunts Sue, Teresa, Lindsey, and Becca. And honorary Aunt Chelsea.

Grandma suggested that the menu should reflect the kid's favorite foods - so we had Mac and Cheese and hot dogs.

Tom's photography skills

Tom loves using my camera and here are some of the shots he got. Not bad for a four year old.

Presents!

The kiddos were spoiled... spoiled, I tell you! Their grandparents and aunts are very good to them.
