More Tom-isms

"Hey, Mom?
You and Dad made me,
right?"

Say what?!?

HOLY CRAP - we are having that discussion now? At age three? You are still working your way out of pull-ups! How advanced IS this new generation? How in the world am I going to explain.... well, you know.

"What do you mean, Tom?"

"You drawed me, right? My eyes and nose and mouth. And then I was born. Just like you drawed Mary Alice and then she was born, too. Right?"

"Yes, son... that is precisely how it happened."

Phew.

Some Tom-isms

When you discover that your delicious yellow cake with chocolate frosting now looks like this:

And the culprit is caught looking like this:

And his only defense is that
"Mom, boys NEED chocolate."

And then he smiles like this.

You let him have all the cake he wants. Right?

Family Holiday Time

We were privileged to have some family in town for the Pioneer Day holiday here in Utah. Dad and Mom Bradshaw, Sue, Teresa, Dave, Cindy, James, Lindsey, and Becca! They were seduced up our way by promises of floating the canyon canal... but alas! they were sorely disappointed by the canal company's new found interest in private property and liability issues. Sad! Fear of the modern litigious world has finally hit our little valley.

But an alternate water source was found to entertain the crew. (Thank you Hyrum Dam!) Several people were dunked and there was lots of digging in the sand. Wouldn't it be nice to see pictures of the aqua-frolic?

Too bad.

I didn't go... and I didn't send my camera.

But Sue did. And you can see it all on her facebook. (That's right folks, I am getting lazy!)

But not to seem too lazy, here are some photos of the gang playing with sparklers in our front yard.

And pictures of the girls with our Mary Alice.

Fun stuff! Thanks for coming, guys!

Jacomb Chronicles - Part II

The American West Heritage Center

Just down the road from us is a fun little living history farm that we decided to visit with the fam. Since it was the end of the day, there wasn't anyone there besides our little family party and the boys had the run of the place!

Horseback riding

(See... there you are Nicci!)

Old-fashioned chores

All the places to explore

The tasty finger foods

Playing in the barn

Feeding the animals

... or chasing them.

But the true hit of the day - the unfinished train track. Boys!

Jacomb Chronicles

We were very pleased to have a visit from our family recently. Ok, not recently... I am almost two months late in getting these photos ready for the blog... But I am starting to catch up on my backlog (I emphasize the STARTING).

So, these photos will be a two-part series depicting our adventures with the Jacomb family and Grandma Christine. Let's start with some introductions:

Meet Mike - age 4. Occupation: King of the World!

And Stephen - age 1. Occupation: Heartbreaker (just look at those eyes!)

And these cute boys' mamma - Nicci.

Nicci?

Where are you?

Now, I promise that these two darlings were not left on our doorstep without parental supervision - but darn it if we only took pics of the kiddos. Sorry Nicci! (Although I think I have one of you at the American West Heritage Center... a.k.a. Part 2 of the Jacomb Chronicles series.
Stay tuned!)

Tom with his cousins

Can you just see the joy? Kids to play with! Hooray!

A little lawn tumbling.

That's some good stuff!

Here are the boys preparing some Oreos for Dirt Cake.

That's some good mashing!

And some good tasting...

A little bathtime playtime.

A relaxing pre-bedtime wrestling match with the dad/uncle.

Good times for all!
